We measured this one at 40 square feet, which is around 3.7 m². It is hide 2529, and the photographs on this page are of that exact hide.

Big enough for a living room floor or under a four-seat dining table, and still easy to lift and shake out on your own.

The markings are not printed or matched to anything. They are where they grew, which is the reason two hides never look alike even when the sizes are close.

Care is close to nothing. Shake it out, air it now and again, and lift a spill with a little neutral soap and warm water no hotter than 104°F / 40°C. No chemicals, do not let it soak, and turn it around every few months so it wears evenly.
