A cowhide has no straight edges because nothing straightened it. The outline curves, the markings sit where they sat on the animal, and the hair lies in its own direction.

A hide in this range covers a seating area without taking over the room. It is also the size that reads best layered, with the curved edge left showing.

Care is close to nothing. Shake it out, air it now and again, and lift a spill with a little neutral soap and warm water no hotter than 104°F / 40°C. No chemicals, do not let it soak, and turn it around every few months so it wears evenly.
